Our research comprises a diverse range of projects under the broad banner of plant systematics, from alpha taxonomy to the study of rapid diversification in the Andes. Most of our research focuses on evolution of Neotropical flora, including the co-evolution of hummingbirds and their food plants, exemplified by sicklebills and Centropogon (photo at right). You can find us in the Shirley C. Tucker Herbarium, home to ca. 400k plant specimens that motivate our research.
